Baking Our Pan de Jamón

Baking Our Pan de Jamón

Pan de Jamón is an iconic Venezuelan Christmas' roll that is essential in every Venezuelan Christmas meal. Making this Christmas roll or 'Ham Bread' takes a lot of work, but  at Arepa & Co we make it easier for you by doing all the prep work and selling it to you frozen and just ready to put in the over. Here's what you have to do:

  1. The night before consumption, take the bread from freezer to fridge and let it thaw overnight (or for at least 12 hours).

  2. Start the process half hour before serving it. Begin by pre-heating the oven at 180C.

  3. Once the oven has reached 180 C, place the Pan de Jamón in the oven with baking paper and aluminium foil provided for 25 minutes.

  4. When the 25 minutes are up, remove the baking paper and foil and keep the Pan de Jamón in the oven for an additional 8 minutes. When this second timer is up, take it out the over, leave it to rest for a bit, slice it up and enjoy!
